  That was my first thought too, but it doesn't really answer Luc's
question directly. That will teach you how to piece together all the
necessary parts but a Core Data Document-Based project has all that
stuff set up for you already. To make use of it without bindings
requires topics covered by the Core Data Programming Guide (and the
KVC guide).
