I was getting ready to do that, and decided one more time to uncomment my version of [op close], which I had commented out after it didn't work and was trying other things, and run it again. I had gone off to fix a different bug, intending to come back to this one later. My patience paid off; whatever was causing it to NOT work before slithered away during the last 24 hours; uncommenting that close call now makes it work.
