custom control and nsformatter

Hy to all... I wrote a little custom control (as interface build plugin) that join a nstextfield and nsstepper. Now I have a palette into interface builder. I can add it into a nswindow, but if I would like to add a NSNumberFormatter to it I can't. I think that my custom control (DFTextFiledWithStepper) doesn't respont to some message... Some one can hep me?
