Conversion to command line tool

I've got a programme that uses an NSView to draw a map based on data from a file, and then saves it as a PDF file. I set up the NSView in Interface Builder of course. But now I want to convert it to a command line tool. I don't care about displaying the map: all I want to do is use the data to produce the PDF. Is there a straightforward way of doing this? Or do I have to hand-code the whole NSView thing?
