Quartz Composer?

Dumb question, but... Is there some way to take the 'gadgets' (I don't really have a better word, as 'widgets' is already taken :) ) created in Quartz Composer and turn them into ObjC code? I'm guessing it's using OpenGL, right? I know you can make a screensaver with them, but what about code? Better yet, is there an XCode project template for creating a simple ObjC program that will do all the 'housekeeping' for OpenGL, that I could plug such code into?
