Application window remains even the app crashes

Hi All,
I am working on a drawing application.
It's getting crashed some times. After it is crashed the crash
report dialog is appearing, but the application window still remains.
I need to perform an additional force quit to make the application
quit.
I want to know, why the application window is appearing even after
crashed? Am I doing something wrong?
