Hi!

Is there an API for writing Spotlight comments (aka. Finder comments) for files?

All the Spotlight APIs I am aware of are read-only. To my knowledge the creation of meta data is restricted to importers.

Yet the Finder can add comments to existing files. SpotMeta even succeeds at writing other data.
