Hi again.

I have managed to get the list of MDImporters using the NSTask funstion and calling the mdimport with the switches but this is relying on another function. Is it possible to to this via COCOA directly. Also is it possible to get a list of what extensions each importer is responsible for?

In my suite of applications I sometimes need to remove a particular extension from my MDImporter when the app that uses it has been removed. Is this possible and vice versa.

Thanks again

Philip

Take a look at the command line tool "mdimport", especially the -L and -X switches.

Hi all

I am trying you create a suit of small apps and was wondering if its possible to get a list of all mdimporters on the system and what extensions they handle through Cocoa. If anyone has any ideas could you please let me know.

Thanks
