That's a bit harsh. Mention of this protocol is brief and not
terribly obvious in the docs. The place I eventually found it was in
Developer/Examples/AppKit/MenuMadness/. If you checkout the Help docs
for NSMenu and NSMenuItem, there is no pointer to the validation
protocol page. The brief reference I found was in Cocoa Fundamentals
(2006-10-03) p. 199.
