I'm making a new app, and I'd like some advice on how to implement it. I'm new to Cocoa programming as well as MVC design, and I'd like to try to learn/implement as many best practices early on.

What I want to make is a client application that will talk to a server listening on a TCP/IP port. The user interface could be compared to iChat - basically a NSTableView with control-rich custom made NSCells.

And now, the broad reaching question is - What is an elegant way to implement this with good emphasis on MVC design?
