Thanks all. I knew there was Carbon way just wanted to check to see
if there was Cocoa way. The "." prefix sounds like the easiest

Is there a Cocoa way to set the visibility of files? I need to

Considering all the flack that Finder gets for creating .DS_store
files, are you sure you want to do this?
I'm not 100% sold on it myself but, in the absence of anything
resembling kqueues or Spotlight on a Windows box, I may have to use
them. I asked the IT guys and they didn't have a problem with it as
the finder does it anyway.
