NSAlert, NSRunPanel Issues

  • Subject: NSAlert, NSRunPanel Issues

I talked about this a few months back and just never found a solution and haven't had time to work on the project. However, this is a serious issue that I need to work out.

Basically, any alert panel or sheet that I run, sends malloc() errors to the console and about every third time, crashes the app. We went through the code that I was using to create and run these sheets and panels, but I have since removed those from the project in trying to track down the problem. Now the only panel I have is displayed from the Sparkle framework (asking if it should check for updates, displayed on initial launch), but this crashes the window as well. Using the standard About window, has the same effect. If I launch a window I have created, no issue. However, anything related to NSAlert or NSRunPanel and their variants is deadly.

Does anyone have any ideas what I need to look at for this? I'm assuming there is something in my project that I've done that has changed the window behavior. I'm just not sure what it would be.

Thanks

Matt
