You may want to consider using X Windows for your application. It
will be much easier for you to develop. One of the key advantages of
using Cocoa is the exceptional quality of Interface Builder, if you
do not want to use that you should skip Cocoa altogether I feel and
go directly to another interface, like X Windows or a web browser.
