But, I do want to display attributed strings (with pictures) in the popup
button. It seems there is no way to do so with the default bindings provided
by NSPopupButton.

I think the simplest design would be to keep a parallel array of
strings that is kept in sync with the attributed strings, then bind
the popup to those.
