That or in the objective-c file you make a c function that calls the obj-c
function, then call the c version from your c file,

Also, there may be some way to get the implementation (IMP) function pointer
for the obj-c message you want to send (google for obj-c implementation
pointers if you don't know), then pass it to your c code somehow (ie make it
global) then call it like any other function pointer.
