NSSpeechRecognizer and recognizer window

Hi all,
I've searched the archives, but haven't seen anything
on this particular problem.
I have an app that listens for commands using
NSSpeechRecognizer; when I create the
NSSpeechRecognizer object, and call startListening,
the system-provided recognizer window appears.
So far, so good.
However, if I call stopListening, the system-provided
recognizer window remains visible until I quit the
app. (Releasing the object makes no difference.)
The net result is that this would appear to the user
to be a bug in my application, but in fact, is
something over which I have no control.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to hide that
window when I stop listening?
Thank you!
B
