Jerry,

From what I've noticed of Apple's "disabled" controls it appears that
they use the "enabled" state but convert it to grayscale, all color is
removed, and then set to 50% transparent.

Thanks, Alan.

I'm a "dummy" with images. Is there any way to do this programmatically, or do I have to do this in an image editor, ship both "enabled" and "disabled"images, and swap them to enable/ disable? Partial answer: I believe there are API for transparency, but what about grayscaling?

Jerry
