That is an intriguing idea but I confess I don't grasp the mechanics.
Having peeked at the contents of a core data database and browsed
through the classes, my perception is that the scheme you propose
would be fraught with difficulties - difficulties that would be the
very reasons that Apple does not support alternative databases. If
you would care to elaborate I, and many others, would pour over every
word.

As further evidence ofmy weak grasp of your idea, I can't imagine how
the factoredness of my code (nor what aspect of factoredness) would
affect the feasibility. Again, any elaboration would be gold.

Once I know precisely what to ask for, I'm going to do just that :)
Currently, I can't see why the feature request I think you are
proposing would be any more successful than asking for broader
database support -- which I feel would be preferable.
