Yes, it is. But the original question is very general as well. You
raise some absolutely valid points, but I don't think we know enough
about the OP's goal to answer definitively. The OP hasn't given any
details about what his app is doing and how and may not understand the
implications of the approach he's inquiring about. Putting on the
brakes and giving warning when you recognize such a situation is the
right thing to do.
My advice was (and remains) to read the documentation thoroughly and
I (admittedly subtly) asked for more details about the intent. This
isn't something you want to do without knowing exactly what it means
and cranking something wide open for the duration of its parent app's
session is definitely not the right approach in every situation.
