If you want to carry a copy of this information in your application, it will also be available in CLDR 1.5:

Current Foundation release notes (http://developer.apple.com/ releasenotes/Cocoa/Foundation.html) indicates that NSThisDayDesignations, NSPriorDayDesignations (and others constants) will be deprecated.

Is there any other way to get "Today" and "Yesterday" translation for current language (other than translating "Today" and "Yesterday" by myself)?

No.

If you trust those localizations as accurate*, grab a copy of each of those words from:

/System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Resources/Languages/

in 10.4, and create strings files for each language you want to support.

* beyond standalone correctness, I could also say "accurate for the context in which you are using them".
