Get position and attributes of hovered word

  • Subject: Get position and attributes of hovered word

As everybody knows, hovering a word with the mouse in a Cocoa app and then invoking the Dictionary with the appropriate shortcut, brings down a window with dictionary or thesaurus info for that word.

A nice side effect is that dictionary service (or what it is) displays a window with the very same (size, font etc.) OVER the word in the screen.

I'd like to know HOW the Dictionary service manages to get the font attributes and location in the screen of the hovered word. I'm gonna reproduce this in an application, but have little clues...

Thanks in advance
