Have a look at graphic contexts as is explained in:

If you have an NSBitmapImageRep you also have (can create) the image
data as jpeg, png etc. These are dataProviders for creating CGImages.
This way does not look like a short/direct way but it is not impossible
to create CGImages from CIImages.
