Heh, sorry, I'm a 10.3 luddite :) I haven't investigated the Tiger-specific classes since we've been supporting 10.3.

NSAnimation seems to be the prefered way to do this (so you don't have to mess around with NSTimers). If the animation is simple enough, and NSViewAnimation will also make things easier.
