Binding menu items

I am binding the menu items title of MainMenu to string values in my application. This works perfect for all the menu items like Save, Close, Cut, Paste etc.

But the top level menu items that are in the menu bar, like File, Edit, Window, Help etc. have no effect by the bindings when I run the application. What am I doing wrong here?
