Hi,
I have been looking around a bit for a way to extract parts of a
string using a specific patter. More in details I am writing a
program to insert id3 tags based on the file name.
Let's say I have the file named: song - someartist - 5 - album.mp3.
The user shall then be able to type in a pattern like %s - %a - %t
- %b (%s represents songname, %a - artist, %t, tracknumber, and %b
- album).
Right now I am trying to solve this with NSScanner but thought it
might be easier using NSPredicate or Regex.
Any ideas?
Rather than typing in some mystical "%" magic, why not use an
NSTokenField - it works great for something like this (both in terms
of how easy it is for the user to use - they just drag in the tokens
they want mixed with regular text, as well as the fact it'll give you
an array of those things, all broken down for easy substitution of
specific values).
