Using bindings with NSPreferencePane

  • Subject: Using bindings with NSPreferencePane

Hi, dear list-readers,

I'm trying to turn my applications preferences into a System Preference Pane. As I used extensively Bindings, I would like to keep my NSUserDefaultsController, alas I can't find a way to tell it not to put my preferences into System Preferences's file.

A workaround I've found is to override valueForUndefinedKey: and setValue:forUndefinedKey: to access [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults], and bind my outlets to an instance of my NSPreferencePane subclass.

Is there a better solution, or is this the only way ?

Thanks,
Etienne Samson
