64-bit NSOpenPanel bug workaround?

  • Subject: 64-bit NSOpenPanel bug workaround?

I reported a bug about NSOpenPanel not initially showing the contents of selected folders on 64 bit Intel. (The bug number is 5564437).

To see this, build TextEdit.app as an non-fat x86-64 binary. Pick Open... from the File menu and observe that the first time you select a folder, it looks empty. Clicking a second time, or navigating away from the folder and coming back to it, will make the contents appear.

Would anyone on the list have any suggestions on how I could work around this in the meantime?
