Hi everyone,

Now that Apple expects us to update our apps to support resolution independence, I am wondering what needs to be done with custom cursors in order to avoid ridiculously small cursors on displays that support higher DPIs than the current ones.

I understand that cursors are no longer limited to 16*16 pixels but are we still supposed to use bitmaps? What about PDF cursor images?

With Leopard out, with all of its resolution independence enhancements, is someone able to answer this now?

Search the archives for details; I've mentioned this a few times already.

Short answer: feed NSCursor multi-res TIFF or PDFs. However, the GM version of Leopard broke something with NSCursor (at least with multi- res TIFF). For testing, either use an older seed (if you have access to it), or with Tiger.
