NSOpenPanel and a CoverFlow view option?

  • Subject: NSOpenPanel and a CoverFlow view option?

I have an application that generates a lot of reports (PDF, RTF, RTFD, TXT....) - all saved into a folder called /Reports. I have menu option called "Previous Reports" that currently invokes NSOpenPanel. It all works fine but I would like to implement a CoverFlow view of the folder's contents. Ideally it would look like NSOpenPanel but with an extra button on the toolbar to display a CoverFlow in addition to Icons, List, Column views - just like in Finder's view options. I can build it myself but this is so obvious an enhancement for Apple to make to NSOpenPanel that I am reluctant to spend the time if Apple is going to enhance NSOpenPanel in the new few weeks or even months.

Q: When will Apple enhance NSOpenPanel to include a CoverFlow view option?

Keith
