Honestly, it might not be such as bad move. Because in Tiger and
earlier version, the behavior for this was quite buggy.

In many cases, the tableView:selectionDidChange: delegate callback was
not sent and you had to call it yourself.


I never noticed any bugs.

I’m glad for you if it suits your needs. However, if this was intentionally not supported anymore, Apple engineers would probably have removed the option from the IB palette and the headers of NSTableView and NSArrayController...

Anyway, and to stick to my original post, have you, or has anyone noticed this behavior in newly coded apps or in Tiger developed ones?
