deleting an outlet in IB

This seems obvious, but for some reason, when creating a Cocoa application,
after I've connected my outlet with my controller class in Interface
builder, compiled etc, I wanted to make a change and remove the outlet. IB
does not let me remove it from the list of outlets it has. I realize I
could always add a new one, but what if I want to reuse the same name? Any
ideas, am I missing something obvious? ( I'm pretty new at using XCODE )
