anyone encountered a similar compiler error after upgrading to Leopard?

yes - at least it looked similar for the 4 seconds I saw it before it caused the machine to spontaneously reboot. That's a pretty serious internal compiler error when it causes the machine to restart ;^) I was unable to file a bug report - there was nothing in the logs - and am unwilling to submit my machine to the same crash just for the good of science.

FYI, I got it when compiling gambit scheme with the latest modification suggested by Marc Feeley on the gambit mailing list.
