More bad advice, I'm afraid. As mmalc is a moderator on this list, I
would certainly recommend against "not listening".

The comment could easily have been taken as asinine or even rude (I
admit I cringed a bit when I read the phrasing) but the spirit of the
message holds true to any technical mailing list.
