copyWithZone error

Hi, when i return the item for a tableColumn in NSOutlineView, the following error is there:

*** -[HDIR copyWithZone:]: selector not recognized [self = 0x39b670]

Here HDIR is the item that i return for a particular tableColumn of outline view. HDIR also inherits from NSObject.
