We have an application that needs to be launched by a shell script. To give the user dbl click launching of this app we created a starter application which, on launch, uses system() to call the shell script which then runs the main application.

The down side to this charade is that we see two bouncing app icons in the Dock during launch; first the starter application followed by the main application.

Any ideas how one application can launch another and yet show the user only one launch sequence in the Dock?
