Yes, I would think so. The input stream to get data from wherever
the data is coming from and the output stream for wherever you want
it to go. I assumed you already had a setup like this.

This doesn't make sense. Casting an object pointer doesn't really
change it, or the behavior of the pointed-to object. All it does is
give the compiler information (which may be wrong) so it won't bother
you with compile-time warnings.
And even if you could, I don't know why you'd want to send the data
right back to where you're getting it.
