I have been searching for a way to put a NSToolbar within a Custom View.
Is this possible?

No.

I have one button that is a default, to return to the previous view, but each view has its own collection of buttons.
Or do you guys know an alternative?

You'll have to write your own. If it's not customizable, it's very very easy to do.
