The "Go" command just does whatever you last did. If you want
something specific, like Run or Debug, then use the explicit menu
commands to do that. Note that all of Xcode's menus can be easily set
with custom keyboard equivalents, so if you're commonly using Run or
Debug, you can set those up with a handy shortcut.
As an aside, this sort of question is more appropriate for the xcode-users list.
