Layer-Backed Views, Mouse, Presentation Tree Bug?

  • Subject: Layer-Backed Views, Mouse, Presentation Tree Bug?

Mouse event hit-testing in layer-backed views doesn't use the presentation tree. In other words, if a view is animating from X to Y, the hit-testing uses the view frame at the end of the animation, not the frame that's currently visible.

You can see this by placing with the CocoaSlides demo; Find the location where a view *will* be after animating, start the animation and immediately click. You'll get a mouseDown event (and see the pointillize effect) for the view before it's under the mouse.

Seems like a bug to me. Am I wrong?
