My (limited) understanding is that GNUStep only reads Cocoa archives,
but doesn't write them, and so has its own format for its NSCoder
subclasses. I'd assume that those wouldn't be broken in such a silly
way. But I don't know for sure.

I have not. It's not my discovery (I found out about it on this
mailing list, I think) and it seems like such an obvious and trivial
thing to file.
