CLLocation* venueLocation = [[CLLocation alloc] initWithLatitude:
venue.latitude longitude:venue.longditude];
CLLocationDistance distance = [venueLocation
getDistanceFrom:currentLocation];
Is distance in metres/miles/km? How do I display it on screen in a
platform independent way?

From the documentation of -getDistanceFrom:

Thanks Duncan! Why do people always seem to be able to find stuff in the
documentation. When I "Option + Mouse double click" on
"CLLocationDistance" Xcode only shows me this!
CLLocationDistance
A distance measurement from an existing location.
typedef double CLLocationDistance;
Availability
Available in iPhone OS 2.0 and later.
Declared In
CLLocation.h
