weird drawing when resizing an outline view

Hello,

I am implementing an outline view with custom cells (using outlineView:dataCellForTableColumn:item) and custom row heights (using outlineView:heightOfRowByItem). It all appears correctly, but when i manually resize the window (dragging the bottom corner), the bottom part of the table flashes gray for a second or so. Additionally, the cells sporadically resize in width, meaning it's not a constant resize with the drag, but is rather jumpy. I've gone through all the code and I'm stumped. I've also checked to make sure there are no overlapping views. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
