One thing that you need to figure out is that there is currently no way to initiate an iChat Theater session from within your application. You need to either select "File > Share a File With iChat Theater..." from within iChat, or drag your application to the window of an ongoing video chat, in order to start the iChat Theater session.

If you'd rather see it possible to start an iChat Theater session from your application, you need to file an enhancement request with Apple:

You might in any case also want to file an enhancement request for improved documentation.
