I agree with your suggestion in general, but not in my particular
case. You see, it's not like I am writing an application, and I happen
to need a file browser for that application (let's say to select a
file to open). In this case the file browser IS the application. I
want it to be open all the time, showing an expendable representation
of a particular branch in filesystem, and to display the full path of
the currently selected file/directory.
I agree, this is particularly useless, but hey, if I wait until I have
a good idea to start playing around, I'll never learn anything.
