Hi, Jeremy,
I'd suggest that, if you are using Leopard, you might wish to use the
Spin Control developer tool. It will monitor where and when your app
stalls (i.e., displays the spinning pinwheel), then give you a
breakdown of the methods that are being invoked. You can set it to
monitor all processes, or just processes with a particular name (or
part-name).
