I did replace the standard cursor and am no longer seeing mouse cursor
glitches---I am using all custom cursors. The only remaining glitch I see is
after a menu or other dialog appears, which restore the default cursor.

My cursors are all built in a 32x32 playpen, and they typically have a 6 pixel
margin around the outside--they are around 20 pixels in size though of a
variety of shapes.

I'm thinking I avoid a glitch because *none* of my cursors have any content in
the upper left corner couple of pixels that seem subject to the glitch.
