How can I get the Leopard developer documentation on my machine? When
I upgraded my machine to Leopard I upgraded my developer tools from
version 2.5 to 3.0. However it seems the documentation under /
Developer/Documentation/DocSets is still the Xcode 2.5
documentation. I have tried in the Xcode documentation window,
clicking on the gear in the lower left corner, and selecting
Documentation Set Updates/Check Now, but I just see a message in the
status bar saying "Checked For Doc Set Updates", but nothing happens.
Have other people found the same thing if they upgraded Xcode? Is
there somewhere on Apple's site to download the current docs? Or do I
just have to view them online and accept that what I see in the Xcode
help viewer is out of date?
For example if I compare the Core Data Programming Guide in the Xcode
help viewer, it's the old version, which I can see for example by
going to the "Non-Standard Persistent Attributes" section, and
comparing it to the same document on developer.apple.com. On the
Apple website that section documents the Transformable type which was
newly added in OSX 10.5, and has a note about what to do if you're
still using OSX 10.4. However the docs on my computer it still just
talks about the trick of using a transient and shadow persistent
attribute pair to handle non-standard attribute types.
Thank you,
Adam
