Please stop mixing fact and opinion.

There are those -- some very very really terribly smart -- people who feel that it is a design feature. Thus indicating that one camp is either incorrect or, more likely, there is a huge wash of nearly religious grey areas in between.

This is not the forum to argue the philosophy of design of something that will not change.

(If anyone is keeping score, I have tried to be careful to *not* express an opinion on this one. I have one and it has changed radically over the years. Twice, no less. But that is OT for cocoa- dev.)
