Drag and Drop Focus problem....

  • Subject: Drag and Drop Focus problem....

Hi,

I tried this a while back but it was a weekend ;(

I have an app that asks for
a password for a zip or rar file when needed.

I use a custom sheet with a password (hidden) text field
and an OK and Cancel button that drops down from the apps
main window.

If I select a password protected file via an open menu
or dragging the file onto the app icon the sheet drops
down and the user can instantly type the password and
the "dots" appear in the password field.

If I drop the file onto the apps main window without
changing the focus ( ie directly dragging a file
from the desktop without clicking anywhere else) the sheet
appears and *appears* to have focus, ie the cursor
in the text field is flashing and the text field has
a focus ring. ( the ok button is also flashing).

However typing has no effect until I click on the
app or the apps menu bar.

How can I force typing to "work" in this case without
having to click om the app?

Thanks,

Jerry
