Using a custom view in an NSMenuItem causes a crash in GC applications.

A plain NSView works fine. An NSView with an enclosed NSSearchField leads to a crash when the menu item is opened multiple times.
A sample project can be found at http://www.houdah.com/MenuView.zip

I have filed this under Radar #5712323. Now I am desperately searching for a workaround.

Hi Pierre,

Let me first thank you for filing this bug and providing a sample that reproduces it. I've modified the sample with the recommended workaround and put it here: http://homepage.mac.com/gershwin/ MenuView.zip

I hope this helps,
